Biography
John W. Dietrich, former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FedEx Corporation, was appointed to the AAR Board of Directors in 2023.
Mr. Dietrich has over 30 years of experience with multi-national public companies, including all facets of aviation and airline management.
Mr. Dietrich previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FedEx Corporation, where he was responsible for leading the Finance team and supporting and advancing corporate initiatives to foster greater efficiencies, manage costs, and provide innovative solutions. Prior to FedEx, Mr. Dietrich held numerous leadership roles at Atlas Air Worldwide, including serving as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Dietrich serves as Chairman of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) and led the organization’s development of an aviation subcommittee on cybersecurity.
In addition to serving on the Board of AAR, Mr. Dietrich also sits on the Boards of American Airlines Group Inc., First Horizon Corporation , First Horizon Bank; Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc.; AACT; Airlines for America (A4A); and Liberty City Optimist Club and is a member (and former Chairman) of the National Air Carrier Association (NACA). He was also a member of the Defense Science Board (DSB) Task Force on Survivable Logistics, convened by the U.S. Department of Defense.
Mr. Dietrich earned a bachelor’s from Southern Illinois University and graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago – John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the Bar in New York, Illinois, and Colorado.
